At the hearing, video evidence revealed conflicting statements between officers, including one officer stating the client was not under the influence, while another asserted the opposite. Through effective cross-examination, the defense exposed these inconsistencies. After the Court ruled in favor of the defense, the State dismissed all charges.

Our client was facing a 20-year minimum mandatory prison sentence on a drug trafficking charge. He exercised his right to trial, and through strategic and zealous defense advocacy, the jury returned a not guilty verdict on the trafficking charge. While the jury found the client guilty of sale and delivery, that offenses does not carry a minimum mandatory sentence. The Court imposed a sentence of eight years in prison, allowing the client to avoid the 20-year minimum mandatory penalty.

Our client was charged with two counts of trafficking in more than 28 grams of heroin, each carrying a 25-year minimum mandatory sentence, for a total potential exposure of 50 years in prison. The case proceeded to trial, where the jury returned not guilty verdicts on both trafficking charges. The jury instead found the client guilty of sale and delivery of heroin, offenses that do not carry a minimum mandatory sentence. The Court sentenced the client to 225 days in jail (time already served) followed by 10 years of probation, allowing him to avoid decades of mandatory prison time.
