What made you choose a career in law?
- I like to be challenged, to solve problems, and to help others. As little kid, my dad would always discuss cases and explain to me what lawyers did, and that is where my interest started. I think you learn something new every day and it is not a routine-type of job.
In your opinion, what sets your firm apart from other firms in the area?
- It is that one on one attention I give to every client. I welcome them as if they were family members. I meet with them initially and no one else. My clients have direct access to me through email, telephone, and text.
What is your end goal in each case?
- The end goal in each case is to fight for justice and deliver a result that my client is satisfied with and so far I have been able to do so.
What steps do you take to prepare for a difficult case?
- First I listen to the facts from my client’s perspective. I always read the elements of the offense and what the prosecutor has to prove. Then I analyze how I can weaken each of those elements for the State. That involves research, accompanied by experience as a former prosecutor of the things I knew I couldn’t prove.
In your opinion, what is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
- The most rewarding aspect of my job is to relief clients from such a burden, from the stress that these cases bring upon men and their families. I like to be able to resolve my client’s problems bring peace to their life but most importantly educate them and walk them through the process with transparency.
What advice do you most often give your clients?
- I tell my clients to take things one day at a time and to let me walk them through it. I am a very transparent person, and I will tell them what they are facing what they could be facing and how we are going to attack the problem. It is team work, and I always want their input and cooperation. I want them to feel somewhat involved so that they don’t feel lost along the way.
